Adam leads the Investment Team at LV= with responsibility for the investment management of £10bn of assets-under-management. This includes constructing derivative strategies, overseeing external asset managers and designing investment strategies with a particular focus on responsible investing. In 2019, Adam was awarded the ‘Rising Star’ Award.
Head of Sustainable Investment, Newton
Andrew oversees the sustainable investment business at Newton, as well as communicating the firm’s approach to purposeful ownership to its global client base. He joined Newton in 2019, prior to which he was head of sustainable investing at Hermes Investment Management where he gained a deep knowledge of responsible investment, sustainability and impact investing. Andrew has over 30-years of investment experience operating at a senior level previously working at Northern Trust, Julius Baer Investment Management, Lazard Brothers Asset Management and Baring Asset Management. He is also a member of the investment of the Trafalgar House Pension Trust and has had a variety of external advisory roles, including mentoring of individuals.
Head of Investments and Treasury, QIC Global
Ankit Shah is Head of Investments and Treasury at QIC Global (fully owned subsidiary of Qatar Insurance Company). In this role, he is responsible for Group Investment Strategy and implementing overall asset allocation of Investment portfolios for the group, ranging from risk mitigation to capital optimised allocation strategies across asset classes as well as complying with regulatory and Solvency II framework. He is also responsible for external managers and liaison with in-house asset manager. Prior to joining the company, Ankit was working with Qatar Insurance Company, Doha, Qatar as Vice President – Investments, overseeing the investment operations and strategic asset allocation across the QIC group. Before this, he was Senior Fund Controller at AXA Investment Managers working on various UK and Pan European real estate funds and Group Financial Controller at UK Capital Investments Group. He trained as an Auditor and worked with Grant Thornton. Ankit Holds a Bachelors in Accounting & Economics and is a Fellow at ACCA and Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Ashish is the Chief Investment Officer for Aviva UK, managing over £225bn of assets across Life and General Insurance. As CIO, Ashish is responsible for defining the investment strategy and delivering the investment performance. Previously, Ashish led the formation of Aviva Investors’ first global research team and before that was Head of Credit Research for Aviva Investors North America.Prior to joining Aviva, Ashish was a Director with UBS Investment Bank in New York and Chicago, and previously was a Senior Ratings Analyst with Crisil (Indian subsidiary of Standard & Poor’s) in India.Ashish is a CFA charterholder and earned his MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he graduated at the top of his class. Ashish also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Indore, India.

Barry Fricke is Global Head of Private Credit, Product Strategy & Solutions at Aberdeen Standard Investments. He represents the private credit capabilities of the firm, developing new and customised investment solutions for clients globally. Prior to joining Aberdeen Standard Investments in April 2017 he was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs for eight years, based at various stages out of London and New York, advising on and managing private credit and alternative investment portfolios. He started his career at JP Morgan, working on investment strategy and portfolio construction. Barry holds an MA in Philosophy from the University of London, Birkbeck, an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg), and a BEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pretoria. He is a CFA charterholder and holds the Certificate in Quantitative Finance. Barry is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.

David Epstein is Group ALM and Treasury Director at Aviva. He is responsible for the Group’s Treasury function and provides Group shareholder direction on asset-liability management, investment and derivatives activity across the business and as CIO of the Group Centre legal entities.David originally joined Aviva in October 2011 as Market Risk Director with responsibility for the oversight of market and liquidity risks across the Group.Before joining Aviva, David was an executive director and head of longevity structuring at J.P. Morgan. During his seven years there, he was responsible for strategic risk management and asset-liability management for corporates and financial institutions.Prior to his role at J.P. Morgan, David worked in risk management advisory roles at two investment banks and a management consultancy. David has represented Aviva in the LLMA (Life and Longevity Markets Association) and has been a member of the central clearing working group of the Actuarial profession. Beata Javorcik is Chief Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London. She is on leave from the University of Oxford, where she is the first woman to hold a Statutory Professorship in Economics. She is also a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, a member of the Royal Economic Society’s Executive Committee and a Director of the International Trade Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research in London. Before taking up her position at Oxford, she worked at the World Bank in Washington DC, where she focused on research, lending operations and policy advice. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale and a B.A. in Economics (Summa cum Laude) from the University of Rochester.

Tera is Director of Research and Economics in McKinsey’s United Kingdom and Ireland Office, working closely with the McKinsey Global Institute. She leads McKinsey’s research on productivity, technology adoption, and government effectiveness, bringing together deep expertise and more than two decades of experience in economics, public policy, innovation, technology, and leadership, as well as ten years of experience as a management consultant focusing on corporate and business-unit strategy. Tera is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and a frequent author, panellist and speaker on topics ranging from economic and innovation policy to technology adoption and the future of work. She serves as a trustee of the Royal Economic Society, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, and the United Kingdom’s Productivity Leadership Group. She is also a member of a number of expert advisory groups on economic policy and innovation issues. She was previously on the board of Innovate UK, the United Kingdom’s national innovation agency, and a member of the States of Jersey Fiscal Policy Panel. In 2018, Tera was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to economic policy.
